IBS symptoms can start at any age, but they are most common in late teenage years or early adulthood.

The four most common symptoms are:

* constipation
* abdominal pain
* bloating that usually subsides overnight and returns the following day
* diarrhoea.

You may experience problems in only one part of the gut or in several, and symptoms can change over time. Your symptoms will depend on which parts of the gut are involved.

IBS Cure For Irritable Bowel Syndrome

It is possible to either cure IBS or at the least reduce the symptoms. There are proven techniques from the fields of hypnotherapy and NLP that have shown time after time that when anxiety about IBS is reduced, the symptoms are reduced too. Yes it is always important to seek medical advice for any physiological problems, including irritable bowel syndrome, but so often all that is left to the person is checking their diet, trying this and that, hoping that the symptom or symptoms of IBS will go away. When you relax, profoundly relax, your mind is more open to positive suggestions. When the various hypnotherapeutic techniques are then combined with NLP, the effects can often be radical and swift. There are various treatments for IBS, but these are amongst the best, the quickest, and the most effective.

Question by Stephie3255: What is wrong with me? If you are a dr/nurse..it would be greatly appreciated..but question is open to anyone!?
I am a 30 year old female with a few health problems. I have type 1 diabetes, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Anemic, Acid reflux disease. I have been feeling not up to par for the past few weeks. I have been throwing up almost every morning. It seems to be stomach acid since it is yellow. I have also been struggling with bowel movements.. sometimes they are so painful that when I am done and I am wiping there is blood. My stomach hurts a lot also. It hurts in the lower abdominal area and I have been having left flank pain as well. My sugar has been under good control. the medicines I am on are insulin, R and NPH, also Prevacid, Lisprinol, Aspirin, Iron and Vitamins. I also have been feeling very worn out, difficulty sleeping at night and I wake up feeling tired as well. I do have a doctors appointment coming up but any advice or suggestions are welcome..thanks in advance!

Could be an ulcer, or ulcerative colitis(sp?), but I don’t really know….What I do know, is you need to go to the doctor NOW. Reschedule your appointment for sooner. There COULD be a big problem, it could be something small, but you need to find out sooner than later.

IBS or fast metabolism… TMI?

ibs signs
by ~dgies

Question by TBaby: IBS or fast metabolism… TMI?
I’m 23 years old- female. September 2010. I started having frequent bowel movements. Going from 1 a day to 5+ times a day. I lost about 25 pounds within the next month but without any diet change. I stopped losing weight and have remained at 120 since then. I’ve been advised to get a colonoscopy, but had a CT scan instead- they didn’t find any polyps. (Good sign :) ) but they still want me to get a colonoscopy which I’ll get once I save enough $ for it… so probably in a year. I haven’t seen any blood but still go at least 4 times a day. I’ve tried multiple restricted diets, however nothing changes. I’m just asking because my friends keep saying it’s not normal and it could be something really serious. I think if it was something serious, something else would of happened by now, right? Like blood, or something? PS I don’t have health insurance and I don’t have money to spend on a doctor… but is it even something that serious to get looked at? Or would it be a waste of money because maybe I just have IBS?

Restricted diets may cause more harm than good. Try to analyze what makes you feel better or worse. Any specific combinations of foods and activities before a bad flare up? Environmental allergens, stress, emotional events in your life? Aurametrix does this type of analysis automatically, looking at hundreds of possible causes such as FODMAPs, particular fatty acids, sugars, purines and more.

So, high blood sugar?

Question by Tyger: So, high blood sugar?
-18yrs, Senior high school
-Weight: 150lbs approx
-Height: 5′ 8″ (68″) (172.7 cm)

I’ve tried googling and everything, but I don’t think of of the information is specific to what I’m looking for and to my circumstances.

I was recently (2 weeks ago) diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and they took my blood that day to check for other things.

I hadn’t eaten anything (I think…) for well over +12 hours the day the took my blood. I had McDonald’s the previous day at about 2pm. My appointment was at about 8am. I probably had a lot of iced tea that night though.

A week and a half later, my blood results come back. High Hemoglobin and high blood sugar.

I was told to stop smoking for High Hemoglobin, however, I do not smoke… I think that’s just dehydration…

The thing that is bothering me the most is high blood sugar. Would this possibly be because by my iced tea? (26g / serving about 16 servings a gallon ) And I drink well over a gallon of that a day. Mixed in amongst it is occasionally soda. Though, I stopped my habit of drinking soda after my cavities. My family does eat out a lot as well.

Does high blood sugar necessarily mean I’m diabetic? Could my eating habits possibly be the only factor?

My mother took my blood results call and didn’t ask anything, she barely paid attention to it, I think… She just told me what it was. Am I suppose to watch what I eat? But I don’t know how to look for that, and again… She didn’t ask.

-I’m suppose to go back in after a month for another blood test.

I would contact my doctors office about this matter, however they’re not available when I get home, and I cannot contact them beforehand. They’re also closed on weekends. I do plan on contacting them sometime in the future, I’m just hoping I can get some tips / theories.

It really sucks because I feel like I’m left in the dark about this. And my mothers lack of concern or help on the matter isn’t making it any easier.

It’s worth a try.
I would imagine the Army is pretty desperate for people these days, so if your condition is stable, they might take you.
